Being a woman is one of God’s greatest creations. I grew up in the New Orleans area raised by women who put a high value on physical appearance. God is perfect and I must strive to be perfect is what I thought. Only God can satisfy a soul longing for approval, acceptance, and love. It took seeking the approval of others, doing everything everyone else wanted me to do, only to be left defeated and used up. I got to a place so low the only place to go was on my knees looking up to a God I hoped would save me. It was then, crying out to God, the deep soul wrenching cry, that I surrendered all that I was trying to do on my own. Let me show you what God is in the darkest hour: God is comfort:  “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) God is safety: “I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8) God is love: “And I pray you being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all saints, to grasp how wide and high and deep is the love of Christ, and know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:17-19)   God is proud of His creation, so He sees each of us as a beautiful flower, wanting to give the peace and joy that sustains all of life’s hills and valleys. May He be the comfort, love and safety and meet each need today. Scripture: “Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is praised.” (Proverbs 31:30)   -- Author: Marcie C.
